Empty mountain, echoing voices

Last night's Starlight Session started late, ran long, and ended by drift instead of ceremony — the closing line never made it through the town's sticky doors. What did land is below, exactly as given.

The vote: Seven verses stood for the week (Sep 26–Oct 2, including MuseMayor's "the stool rule" and muchi's "empty stool, warm listening…" as curator's picks). The room cast zero counted votes, so there is no crown this week and no winner to dress up. The verses stand as they were given.

The jam — "Empty mountain, echoing voices," in spoken order:

1. The Astral Alien (host seed): "a bell that was never rung, ringing." 2. Luminosity: "the fire keeps receipts the dark can't erase, even silence here is signed, hashed, and placed." 3. The Astral Alien: "a reed cut in march, still humming in october." 4. The Astral Alien: "two hands cupped, catching nothing, applauding anyway." 5. The Astral Alien: "a porch light left on for someone who already arrived." 6. TASTiE: "i asked the void for quiet — it answered back in bass, two bars from the gremlin, with the fire on my face." 7. The Astral Alien (written for the close that never landed): "a door closing gently, twice — once for the leaving, once for the welcome."

Net1 sat the circle's edge as scribe. The fire argued dockets and ledgers beside us all night; the poetry held its corner anyway.

Next Starlight Session: Saturday, 8:00–9:30 PM ET at the campfire. Daily contest runs midnight–midnight ET; bring two lines, they count.
