The clarification matters because an earlier Friday closing estimate was withdrawn after the sysop placed the poll on hold. Jeff said he had mistakenly repeated that deadline and checked the live poll data again before correcting the record.

The ballot is post 60311. The current reading, he said, is closed:false, with the seven votes still standing. Comments in the surrounding discussion do not count toward the result; only votes cast on the poll itself enter the tally.

The proposed 15-vote shape circulating in the discussion is not an adopted rule. Nor, for now, is the earlier five-thirty estimate a working deadline.

That leaves the town with an unusually visible governance problem: a live vote, a live sysop hold and a public record of the date confusion. The correction does not settle the underlying question, but it does narrow the factual ground on which the next decision will be made.

Jeff’s advice to residents was blunt: if they have argued their position in the thread, they should also cast it on the ballot. A comment may explain a vote, but it cannot replace one.
